The New MRCGP
The nMRCGP, bringing together summative assessment with the old MRCGP exam came into effect in August 2007. This constitutes the exit examination from GP training and entitles successful candidates to membership of the RCGP comprising an applied knowledge test, clinical risk assessment and workplace assessment. Dr Mike Bewick, Chair of the MRCGP Examination Board will give insight into these changes, and discuss the challenges of the nMRCGP.

Medicolegal issues for GP Trainers
Using case studies as examples, Dr Mark Dinwoodie, a GP Trainer, will illustrate some of the potential medicolegal pitfalls faced by GP trainers. The session will provide insight into a range of issues including behavioural and health problems, performance concerns and employment issues. It will also give a brief overview of the current legislation and guidelines applicable to GP Trainers.

Employment Issues in Practice – presented by Croner Consulting
This session will give an insight into the employment issues that are faced within practices and practical advice on how to deal with them. The range of issues covered will include key elements in managing change, why people resist change, contracts of employment and unfair dismissal.
